CATEGORIES OF BIKES



Bikes have been categorized into different categories according to its looks/style and according to its purpose/capacity.According to the looks/style, bikes have been categorized into three types. They are: Road/street bike: They are normal bikes, which are used for daily purposes. They look simple and easy to use. It is suitable for both city ride and long rides. Some of the examples of road bikes are Pulsar, Unicorn, etc. Naked bike: As the name suggests these kinds of bikes looks naked. It means these bikes have no engine cover and they look mean and muscular. For example: FZ, MT-01, etc. Dirt bike/off road bike: Dirt bikes are the bikes which are used off the road. It is used for touring and trekking. And they are usually heighty. It means they have more ground clearance than road bikes and naked bikes. They are also called motocross.And according to purpose/capacity, there are three types of bikes: City commuter bikes: These are the bikes of below 135cc of engine. They are useful for city rides. So they are called city commuter bikes. Scooters and mopeds also come under city commuter bikes. Premium sport bike/ Executive bikes: These are the bikes of 135cc to 200cc engine. They are also called executive bikes because they are usually used by office executives and office goers. Sport bikes: Sport bikes are the bikes of more than 500cc category. They are specially used for racing purpose and by bike enthusiasts. They are usually big bikes and little bit complicated than small category bikes.
